Published: 18 June 2026
Owner: South African Penguin Alliance
Status: Public operating plan; year-end results to be verified after fiscal close.

## 2026 Targets

- Monitor 2,400 breeding pairs through partner-supported field programs.
- Deploy or replace 680 artificial nests in heat-exposed breeding areas.
- Support 1,150 chicks or birds through qualified rescue and rehabilitation partners.
- Reach 18,000 learners through schools, webinars, and education packs.
- Mobilize 9,600 volunteer hours across remote, event, and community pathways.
- Advance 14 policy actions, including submissions, briefings, and coalition updates.

## Measurement Rules

SAPA separates targets, partner-reported outputs, and independently verified outcomes. Every public number should include a date, owner, definition, and evidence note.

## Funding Priorities

First-year unrestricted operating support keeps the alliance accountable and responsive. Restricted funding is prioritized for artificial nests, partner rescue grants, education access, monitoring equipment, and policy communication.
